Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact The Second Annual Southeast Florida
Regional Climate Leadership Summit

Friday, October 29, 2010
Miami, Florida

The members and participants of the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact came together for a second time to reaffirm the commitment made in 2009 and review the progress made in the past year. With the continued focus on regional collaboration, the Compact participants looked forward to engaging additional partners, specifically the participation of municipal leadership.

The Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit is a collaboration of Broward, Palm Beach, Monroe and Miami-Dade counties. The four counties have come together each October over the last two years to develop a coordinated climate change strategy for the region, resulting in the signing of the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact. In addition to elected and appointed officials from the four counties, this effort also includes the participation of federal and state agencies; regional transportation planning and water management authorities; and members of the regional Climate Change/Green Task Forces representing the four participating counties. This unprecedented collaboration on an issue of such significance has received the recognition of leaders in the climate change field, both nationally and internationally.
